PebblePad in Practice

When you first encounter a tool like PebblePad it can be difficult to conceptualise how you might use it or what the possibilities might be. The following resources might help you to get started or give you some new ideas:

  • examples of how PebblePad is being used;
  • exemplars of what the ‘products’ of PebblePad can look like;
  • information about who else is using it; and

PebblePad Literature Review

We have recently commissioned Sarah Chesney, an eLearning Consultant specialising in personal learning spaces, to conduct a review of all PebblePad related literature. We asked Sarah to focus on literature that:

  • Has been peer-reviewed (journals and conference presentations)
  • Advances the knowledge of PebblePad in practice
  • Includes research results to back up claims
  • Is of sufficient length to make a useful contribution (ie. not simply an abstract)

The results of Sarah’s review can be accessed at http://www.citeulike.org/user/PebblePad. Each citation is accompanied by the full abstract and relevant notes from Sarah. All articles include links to publisher details and, where possible, a link to the full paper is also provided.

Training

We believe strongly that good training is essential to good PebblePad implementation. You can register for one of our scheduled training events or request training, conducted either at a central location or on site at your institution. This training can be based on our standard training programs or we can customise training to meet your needs.

Conference

In 2010 we ran our inaugural PebblePad conference, PebbleBash 2010. With over 80 delegates from 3 continents the conference boasted a wide range of educational professionals and students who all contributed their personal experiences of working with eportfolios in their respective disciplines. A number of great resources are available from this conference, including presentations and a fantastic series of PebblePad case studies.

We’re delighted to announce our keynote speakers for PebbleBash 2012 are confirmed and that we’re now accepting submissions and bookings for what is going to be an exciting event just prior to the launch of PebblePad+. Hopefully we’ll have initial presentations from early adopters from Australasia and sessions on how people have implemented activities from the recent Pebblegogy.

The conference has three main themes and for the benefit of the community it is important that conference submissions moves beyond the persuasive argument to an evidence based analysis of the impact of PebblePad upon your chosen theme(s).

If you have any questions about the submission/review process or booking a place at the conference please do not hesitate to contact the conference team at conference@pebblelearning.co.uk
